The 13th Story is an interactive rapping adventure where you hear folk tales as music and get the chance to add your own song!
Here’s our amazing competition that gives your child the chance to write their own rap and have it featured on an actual Yoto card — performed by none other than Secret Agent 23 Skidoo.

Get inspiration with Right Place, Write Rhymes
This free Right Place, Write Rhymes playlist has lots of info to help them learn how to write and perform their own raps — with seven chapters full of tips and tricks, as well as three bonus beats your child can use to practice their rapping skills.
The competition is running for nearly two months, so you have until mid-November to fine-tune their rap and submit the lyrics.
The winning rhyme will be performed by Cactus, and replace the finale track on The 13th Story card!
About the competition
To enter this Competition you must be (a) a resident of the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the United States of America, Canada, or Australia, and (b) be the parent, carer or guardian of a child under 15 years of age, or an educator with written permission from the parent carer or guardian of a child under 15 years of age.
How to enter
Ask your kid to write their own rap lyrics for a three minute song, using our free Right Place, Write Rhymes playlist as inspiration.
Then submit the lyrics using the form below

How long do I have to enter?
The competition will close on the November 13th, 2025 at midnight PST / 14th November 2025 at 7am GMT. Any entries submitted after this time will not be accepted.
How will the competition be judged?
Yoto’s Head of Music, Dom, will pick the winner.
How will I be contacted?
The winners will be contacted via email within 30 days of the competition closing.
