Hello! Our mission at Yoto is to be the soundtrack of childhood and help families on their own unique adventures.
We are proud of our content catalogue and how it introduces such a diverse world of audio to children, inspiring the next generation of independent, creative minds. And we are proud of our players, which put kids in control of their audio journey.
We also value choice, which is why we have ways to bring your own audio to Yoto, whether that’s your own recordings on Make Your Own cards, or by adding your favourite kids podcast to a Yoto Card.
And here on our community hub, Yoto Space, we have been extending choice further in recent months by providing a place for you to share original audio for other families to enjoy.
We are now excited to announce the next step in this journey, with a new pilot program for creators who want to sell their content to an audience of audio loving families with Yoto players.
Creators will have two options:
Yoto Creators - is for sharing original audio made by you. Build your audience by making audio content freely available as digital Yoto playlists. There are already some fantastic titles to discover on Yoto Space.
Yoto Creator Marketplace (trial) - this is the new initiative where independent creators will be able to find a new audience and sell their content in Yoto format.

Questions you may have
1. Who can take part in this trial?
Creators and publishers of audio content made for children can register their interest to take part. We are initially focussing on audio content that is already produced. This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic creators making great audio content who want to put kids in control using the unique format that Yoto has to offer.
2. Where can I purchase this content?
In the coming months we will be adding options to purchase titles on Yoto Space. These will be in digital format just like the digital audio on our regular Card Store. Once purchased, these titles can be linked to a Make Your Own card at home.
You may also see some titles being made available through third party stores, some in physical Yoto Card format. It’s still early days while we test and learn, but we think this is a really exciting development that will create a richer, more vibrant world of choice for all Yoto player owners.
Regular visitors to the Facebook group may have seen some of this support for independent creators already, including Momma Bear Audio, Kaleidoscope Kids and Fable Stories who have all been able to bring their products to customers through their own stores in recent months. We look forward to others joining them.
3. What is your content policy?
Yoto Creator Marketplace is a platform to bring more choice to families from a wider range of creators from across the globe. Stories in different languages, music from interesting new artists, teachers making lesson materials, under-served interest groups, the next Yoto Daily podcast stars. The possibilities are endless!
We won’t make the same editorial judgements on content for the marketplace as we do for titles in our Card Store collection. However, all titles made available must follow the ground rules set out in the Marketplace Content Guidelines. To help with discovery, there will be audio previews, helpful tagging, ways for listeners to review titles and of course ways to flag content.
We know it won’t be easy to build a well balanced marketplace from scratch, so we ask for your patience as we all find our feet, but we’ll build this in the same way we approach everything; diligently, always listening to you, not being afraid to change direction, putting kids in control and always helping families.
