Creator Marketplace - Content Guidelines

Hello! Our mission at Yoto is to be the soundtrack of childhood and help families on their own unique adventures.

Yoto Creator Marketplace is a platform to bring more choice to families from a wider range of creators from across the globe. Stories in different languages, music from interesting new artists, teachers making lesson materials, underserved interest groups, the next Yoto Daily podcast stars. The possibilities are endless!

We won’t make the same editorial judgements on content for the marketplace as we do for titles in our Card Store collection. However, all titles made available must follow the ground rules set out below.

What we encourage

We encourage you to submit content that is… original, creative, adventurous, funny, educational, representative, useful, relatable, kind, smart, engaging, enriching, helpful, fascinating and fun.

The ground rules

Content will be rejected or removed from the marketplace pilot if we identify any of the following (which list is not exhaustive):

  • it contains offensive material including material that is derogatory of a person or group due to age, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, nationality, race, religion, sex/gender, or sexual orientation

  • it is in any way libellous, or otherwise illegal or potentially harmful (in particular that is contrary to the UK Online Safety Act)

  • it is in any way plagiarised

  • it includes any third party intellectual property i.e. music, audio, artwork, narrative, characters

Yoto also reserves the right to reject content for any reason at its sole discretion.

Questions you may have

How will you enforce these rules?

Yoto will use a combination of technology and human review to moderate content. Users are able to report any content they deem violates these rules via this form for Reporting Content.

How will you select the creators?

The Yoto Creator Marketplace is publicly available for anyone to apply to. We do not make editorial judgements over the quality of the content, but we provide technical specifications to help enable best practice

How can parents trust the content from these creators?

To help with discovery, there will be audio previews, helpful tagging, ways for listeners to review titles and of course ways to flag content in relation to this policy. Families should satisfy themselves that the content is right for them before sharing with their children.
