Phew! All the entries to the Audio Maker Competition are now posted on Yoto Space. So you can hear for yourself all the great titles that have been created by this wonderful community, and start to vote for your favourites.
This update will tell you all about how the community vote and the Yoto judging panel vote will happen, and some changes to the dates previously advertised.
More time to vote
We have been overwhelmed by the positive response to the contest, and the diversity and quality of the audio creations that have been submitted!
We didn’t know quite what to expect when we launched both Yoto Space and this contest at the same time, but it has been a thrill to see and hear all the wonderful things you have made: from episodes of Yoto Daily made by kids, to epic interactive audio adventures. From your family recipes, to painting workshops, Chess, board games, poetry, birdsong nature walks, London travel guides and the very first Yoto pop song!
In response to this, we have extended the voting period till the end of May so that everyone can have enough time to discover all the good stuff and make their votes. All the winners will now be announced on Thursday 1st June 2023.
The Short List
We will be announcing the judges' short list on Thursday 11th May, and this will include the pool of entries from which the Yoto judging panel will select the overall winners. We will mark all long listed entries on the site so that you can enjoy these as well.
First prize wins $1,000 (or equivalent where you are)
2nd prize wins $300
3rd prize wins $200
4th prize wins $100
5th prize wins $50
Your votes count
The top ten entries based on the number of likes received on Yoto Space will each receive $100 (or equivalent in your currency). These can be any entries, not just ones from the long list, so you can really have your say.
So try out all those interesting entries, put them on a Make Your Own card so you can try them with the kids, and remember to place your votes by the end of May.
And if you made an entry (and even if you didn’t), feel free to sing and/or dance about it wherever you like to sing and/or dance. A post on Facebook, a Tweet, your family Whatapp group, to other parents at the school gate! Spread the word and let people know about all the interesting audio there is to find here on Yoto Space.
Your comments help
As well as voting, commenting on the entries you enjoy helps to give a flavour of what to expect for other people. With so many great entries, this will help a lot.
Yoto Daily
Jake will be highlighting some of the entries on episodes of Yoto Daily from the 11th May up to the final vote at the end of May, so stay tuned for those!
