I would like a plug-in version of the player that has no internal battery to worry about. This seems counter-productive, but hear me out. The battery version is great and I wouldn't change that, but I would like one that I can just plug in like an alarm clock and have it function as just that without worrying about having to set screen time-outs and destroying the battery by having it plugged in all night. It would be cheaper to make because rechargeable batteries are pricey, and it could still function as a player, speaker, clock, and nightlight- only without the stress of the clock screen turning off or any of the stresses of a battery such as will it die in the middle of the night or will I kill it by keeping it on the charger- because I know I want it to stay in the same place all the time. This would probably need a parental control of no content allowed to turn on at certain times, but I would like that function anyway.
