Let the green button navigate tracks inside a playlist, not just choose playlists

Today I turn the green button to pick a playlist, but to move between tracks inside it I have to switch to the orange dial. Two controls navigating two levels of the same folder is confusing.

I'd like the green button to work like the original iPod click wheel:

  • Turn to move between playlists, click to enter one. Playback starts automatically, resuming from the saved position (or the first track if there's no history).

  • Once inside a playlist, turn to move between its tracks, click to play the selected one.

  • Click without turning toggles play/pause.

  • Long press goes up one level without interrupting playback, so I can browse playlists while the current content keeps playing. It only changes when I confirm a new selection.

  • Hold the power button to eject the current playlist, as on the previous Yoto generation.

  • After a few seconds of inactivity, it returns to the now-playing screen.

Turn to navigate, click to act. One control, one mental model. The orange dial would then be a transport control, mirroring the left dial: click for next track, hold to fast-forward.

With a physical card playing, turning the green button moves between that card's tracks. Switching playlists isn't possible until the card is ejected (physically or virtually), so the card's content always takes priority.
