With no playlists assigned, the green dial works as pause, which is fine. But if the dial is turned, the display switches to clock mode and I can't pause (or resume if paused) until the playback screen returns. That takes several seconds, so it's not immediate. This happens a lot with small kids who play with the dial. Pause should always be instant.
