I have a lot of cards in the library that are really short and/or related to each other (for example the Pedro stories which are about 5 minutes each). Considering how much a 'make your own card' can hold it would be more efficient and more sustainable to be able to link as many of my digital cards to a physical card. It would also make it easier for kids not to have to change cards constantly!
