Although the Yoto player was designed for children, I'm an adult and find it very useful. I still like listening to the junior novels and take advantage of the MYO cards. It's great for listening to adult books since I'm limited on my internet data. Because so many of the adult books are long and take up a lot of space I needed more storage than 32 gigs. I decided to try changing out the SD cards and put in a 256 gig SD card. I'm not sure if this voids the warranty so if you plan to do this, please take this into consideration.
I used a Transcend brand SD card. Some other good brands are Samsung, Lexar, PNY and San Disk. They cost anywhere from around $22-29 on Amazon. Don't go cheap on the SD card or you'll run the risk of losing data.
You will need to format the SD card to FAT32. Computers don't support formatting SD cards over 32 gigs to this format so you'll need to do an internet search and find a program that will do this.
To install the SD card you'll need to disassemble your Yoto player. Something to note, this will only work on the Yoto mini. Take the rubber feet off the bottom, save them to put back on. Pry off the orange knobs (use something plastic). Unscrew the screws under the rubber feet then carefully pop the back off. Don't pull it all the way apart. There are wires that need to stay connected. Unscrew and take off the panel and underneath next to the speaker you'll find the SD card enclosure. There is a lever on the side of the enclosure to release the SD card. Pull the card out. I would suggest using plastic or ceramic tweezers. Insert your new SD card(make sure you have it facing with the correct side up. Close the lever and reassemble.
I just restarted my player and redownloaded my cards.
I would suggest doing this only if you have some basic electronics\computer knowledge and are good at disassembly and reassembly, as this could vou could void the warranty on your Yoto player and make it unusable.
I hope this is useful if you may want to upgrade your Yoto mini player.
