Disappointed with the rise in AI content.

With more and more content coming out via the developers challenge, I'm finding more and more is AI generated.

I think AI is an interesting tool. Things like battery. Or using date time and location to select pre-recorded audio. I like that.

But when we get into actual stories written and performed by AI, I really don't want anything to do with this. Part of that could be that I'm a musician and so I feel very strongly that it's humans who should be making art, but also, I want to give my children access to quality content.

How are others feeling?

Personally since I don't think Yoto is going to ban AI content (supporting the weather tool), I'd at least like there to be some sort of icon that shows very very clearly whether the content is AI generated, voiced by AI, or both

On the Developer Challenge, please remember that the developers taking part are just regular folk responding to a call to make things that are useful, educational or entertaining for families. They’ve put lots of effort into their creations and will be grateful for feedback, but it isn’t fair to take out concerns about the wider use of AI on them. This area is new for them, new for you, and new for us too.

I hear your points about clearer labelling. Here on Yoto Space, this is something we already do via tagging for content that is submitted on Open Mic, and as you have seen, for in-house experimental apps in Yoto Labs. We have now labelled the Developer Challenge entries in the same manner, so that families can make better informed choices about the apps they’d like to try.
