My kids Theo and Ember are huge Yoto Daily fans, and also lovers of Axolotls! These creatures are incredibly interesting, but also very endangered in the wild. Featuring them in an animal facts segment would be a great idea to help spread awareness and introduce them to more people.
Some interesting facts:
1. They can regrow limbs.
2. They are neotenic (never physically outgrow their juvenile form).
3. They breathe through long frilly gills on the outside of their head.
4. They are only found in the wild in 1 single lake in Mexico, nowhere else.
5. Some versions of Axolotls have a gene which causes them to glow under black light!
