Halloween Round-Up 🎃
Culture Kids Podcast: Special Halloween Episode
In this imaginative adventure, the Culture Train takes families deep into a mysterious, spooky forest, where we meet animals that often make people nervous, like spiders, snakes, and bats. As we learn more about them, we discover they’re not quite as frightening as they seem. We’ll explore the important roles they play in nature and hear meaningful stories that people from different cultures have shared about them.
The heart of the episode is that staying curious can help us understand the things we fear, and sometimes learning more can make something feel much less scary!
Hollow Head Pete & the Wicked Wish
On Halloween, three siblings are lured by a whimsical witch’s tempting choice: a full-size candy bar or a wish-granting candle. But first, they must hear the haunting tale of Hollow Head Pete, a story of magic and retribution with a timely caveat to be careful what you wish for… you might get what you deserve! Produced by Atomic Toybox Entertainment and Bix Pix Entertainment.
The Hollow
Commemorating the 200th anniversary of Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” The Hollow is a modern take on the timeless story of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman, perfect for families and kids over 10.
When three 6th graders at Sleepy Hollow Middle School stumble upon a real-life ghost story, they find themselves on the trail of the Headless Horseman himself. Is he truly a terrifying ghoul, or has he been misunderstood all these years?
The Weirdness
Middle-schoolers Arlo and Sierra host a podcast dedicated to exploring unexplained phenomena like the Loch Ness Monster, the yeti, and the Chupacabra. But they’ve never actually witnessed any of it, until they track down an unusual caller who turns out to be none other than Bigfoot himself.
Turns out, the Weirdness is real, and it’s everywhere! Arlo, Sierra, and Bigfoot (aka Beef) set off on a mind-blowing adventure across the globe to find out why the creatures of legends are disappearing.
Unspookable
Unspookable is a family-friendly look at the histories and mysteries behind your favourite scary stories, myths and urban legends. Each week host Elise Parisian digs into the history, brain science, and power dynamics behind topics like Bloody Mary, Charlie Charlie, and Ouija Boards to find the stories behind the scares. Recommended for ages 8-13.
