Kick off a summer of fun with Yoto and BAFTA winning TV Presenter, Maddie Moate, at a special Yoto Mini Pit-Stop at Welcome Break South Mimms, UK

We know that long car rides with kids can be hard work, so we’re teaming up with BAFTA-winning TV presenter and YouTube science star, Maddie Moate, for a one-day-only event to demonstrate the different activities the Yoto Mini has to offer to beat boredom and make journeys easier this summer holidays.
On Saturday 2nd August, from 10am to 2pm, families can make a Yoto-way pit-stop at Welcome Break South Mimms Service Area in the UK and drop in for an exciting lineup of interactive sessions hosted by Maddie herself. No tickets, no booking, just spontaneous fun for curious kids on the move!
From energetic rounds of musical statues and draw-along activities to brain-teasing quizzes and personalised story recommendation sessions, there’s something for everyone.
Young adventurers will also get the chance to trial a Yoto Mini during the event and dive into a treasure trove of audio content selected from our 1,200-strong library of cards from some of the world’s best-loved publishers, music artists and kid-friendly creators.
Children will be able to tell Maddie what they love, from fairy tales to amazing inventions, and she’ll recommend the perfect Yoto cards just for them, whether it's an audiobook, activity or music album, which kids can then take away with them for free.

Our research shows that most people travel up to 2.5 hours in the car when going on staycation in the UK, so from 2nd August until the 1st September we’re also making a special Mini Pit-Stop Playlist available on the Discover section of the Yoto App that really goes the distance, with five full-length cards included - completely free! Free cards will remain available to access until the 1st September.

Can’t make it to the event with Maddie at South Mimms on the 2nd August? Don’t worry!
The Yoto Mini Pit-Stop will be at South Mimms from 3rd August until 8th August 2025, giving families the chance to trial the Yoto Mini and a selection of the vast amount of top-quality kids’ audio on offer, and even pick up a free Yoto Card to take with them on their travels.
Not only that, but the screen-free fun is also coming to Welcome Break service areas at Fleet South, Gordano (Bristol), and Rotherham between 4th – 8th August too.
