Spotlight on PASTE: the two-minute toothbrushing song

Yoto Space community member Indigo Desert submitted something a little unusual for Yoto Daily's Happy Headlines recently: a music video for a toothbrushing song!

"Two schools in Weston-super-Mare had visits from public health every term for 18 months and at the end, some theatre makers came in to help them write this song. The acronym PASTE helps them remember five top tips for brushing teeth:

P = Pea sized blob - use a pea-size blob of fluoride toothpaste
A = Around all surfaces - brush around all the surfaces of all the teeth
S = Spit don’t rinse - spit the toothpaste out but don't rinse it away
T = Two minutes - brush for two minutes to get the mouth really clean
E = Every day - do this twice everyday

They then made a video so they can watch themselves whenever they want.

In fact, you might have heard a clip of the song played on today's Yoto Daily (Jake News, Thursday 22nd May).

If you're curious, here's the full video:

Well done to Samantha and Hannah and everyone who helped make the video.

Indigo Desert said "whilst I organised for the song to be written, the assemblies where the lyrics were gathered and the recording of the video, the real artists are Jordan who compiled the lyrics into the piece they are today, wrote and made the music, and recorded it. And Jack, who was the creative mind and videographer behind the music video with the kids."

Perfect for taking part in National Smile Month (UK).
