There are some exciting new additions coming to the digital collection available on all tiers of a Yoto Club subscription!
As a reminder, Yoto Club subscribers can currently access over 200 digital Yoto Originals in the Yoto App (go to the Discover tab > Yoto Club Collection).
Starting today, for a three-month trial period, we will be adding selected cards from our fantastic independent Developers and audio Creators to this collection.
New to Club Collection: cards from independent Creators

New to Club Collection: connected cards from independent Developers
Connected cards need an internet connection to deliver a unique experience each time they’re played, which means they won’t work offline.
Dreaming of a Jet Plane
A winning app in our Developer Challenge, Dreaming of a Jet Plane magically turns a Yoto player into a scanner that finds planes in the air around you, and teaches the listener about the planes and where they are headed - using real flight data!
This card uses AI to create the live voice audio that updates according to the Yoto player’s location. All content is from safe, professional sources and curated by humans. You can read more about the technology used to bring Dreaming of a Jet Plane to life on our Developers Hub.
Animal Facts
Another winning app from our Developer Challenge! Learn something new about the animal kingdom every day. Hosted by Alice, age 7 and wannabe future zoologist.
Around 100 facts have been recorded and a random one is played each day. No AI is used to deliver the experience. You can read more about the technology used to bring Animal Facts to life on the Developers Hub.
Changes to the free ‘Made by developers’ cards in the Discover tab
These cards were previously available for free in the Discover tab of the Yoto App, to showcase some winners of the Developer Challenge along with Yoto’s own Weather Whiz app.
The updated cards for Dreaming of a Jet Plane and Animal Facts available in Discover now offer a preview rather than the full experience. If you already added these to your library, they will also become the preview versions.
For example, the free version of Dreaming of a Jet Plane will provide recent plane information, but will not necessarily be localised to the player. And the free version of Animal Facts includes seven daily facts before looping around again, instead of more than 100.
The full versions are now exclusive to the digital Club Collection.

Who are independent developers?
Like our independent creators, independent developers aren’t employed by Yoto. They are individuals who have invented their own Yoto-compatible apps - in this case, in the form of dynamic connected cards - supported by technical information supplied by Yoto.
Why have we made the change?
We are thrilled that many families have enjoyed trying something new using these connected cards, and the developers have received lots of useful feedback. However, due to the ‘hosting’ services used behind the scenes to power the dynamic content, the more popular the cards, the more they cost the developers to run.
Moving the cards to the club collection means that the developers can receive a share of revenue, helping to pay for the hosting and any other maintenance costs and to recognise the ongoing time and effort involved.
What happens when the trial ends?
We will review how the trial has gone after three months. After that date, we will consider the data and feedback from listeners before making any changes.
After the trial, we may extend the opportunity so more Creators and Developers can participate.
