As most parents and caregivers know, bedtimes can often be a bit of a battle. But they needn't be! Not with a Yoto Player and its many helpful features to hand. You can read all about how we’ve designed our players to help out when it comes to a peaceful night’s sleep.
Don’t just take our word for it though, we asked real families how they use theirs when it comes to saying "night night"…
First up, we hear from the McConnells and how dad Freddie keeps things moving with the help of their trusty Yoto Player; “As the sole parent, I can find bedtimes challenging and Yoto has become a huge help in our routine. After a long day of work for me, and school and nursery for the kids, Yoto keeps SJ company while I put his little sibling to bed. We usually go upstairs together at about 7pm and SJ will be in his room with his player, while I put LB down in my room, which takes about 20 minutes.”
“At the moment, SJ is enjoying Danny Chung Does Not Do Maths (and I am too!). Once LB is asleep, I'll go see SJ and he often has questions about the story because it's slightly advanced for him. But that's OK because we like to talk and connect before snuggling down to sleep.
He has also recently realised (or remembered!?) that he can listen to music through his Yoto, so he sometimes chooses bedtime radio or a Mrs H and the Singalong Band card.
The third card he most often chooses is one I created, that has the Story Quest podcast on it.
His all-time favourite bedtime story card is The Giraffe and the Pelle and Me. He knows all the words by heart.”
For Lola, Ade and their two young boys, their Yoto has been a firm fixture at the end of the day for a long time. Here’s what they have to say about how it fits into their lives; “Our family has cherished our nightly routine with our Yoto player for over three years now. Each evening is a special time as our boys take turns choosing a story card, filling our bedtime with anticipation and excitement. We love how the Yoto brings stories to life, making bedtime a key moment for family bonding and ensuring our nights are full of adventure and ease.”
“Our Yoto has been an integral part of our boys' consistent bedtime routine for the last 3.5 years. Each night, they excitedly take turns picking a favourite story card, making bedtime something they both look forward to. As the story unfolds, they relax and listen, comfortably tucked under the covers. It’s more than just a player; it’s a key part of their nightly routine, providing a comforting and familiar backdrop as they drift off to sleep.”
But what about their favourite cards? “We love The Gruffalo, A Bear Called Paddington and Mighty Pup Power!”
