Coach Kody's journey began on the blacktops of elementary schools across Los Angeles, where he created catchy songs for his after-school groups. These songs were designed to spark interest in various topics and enhance engagement among students. With the rise of the streaming era, Coach Kody was able to independently distribute his music worldwide, reaching schools and homes across the globe.
Inspired by Sheryl Leach, "the mother of Barney," who once said, "Kids can tell when you're trying to teach them something," Coach Kody aims to create an experience where listeners can learn without feeling like they’re being taught to directly. However, there's also a belief there's space for nonsensical, fun music that allows kids to just enjoy the experience. The 6-11 age group is often overlooked in the kids space but much of Coach Kody's content works to bridge the gap between "cool" and "clean," providing songs that speak to this often-forgotten age group.
The goal is always to push the children's music genre forward, challenging and changing the perception of what children's music can sound like.
