Momotaro: The Peach Boy is one of Japan’s most beloved folktales.
This narration was written and performed by Sakura Mochi Mommy, based on the classic public domain story.
The tale begins when an old couple discover a giant peach floating down the river.
Inside, they find a boy, whom they name Momotaro.
As he grows, Momotaro sets out to defeat the ogres (oni) who have been troubling the villagers—stealing food, treasures, and causing fear.
With his courage and special millet dumplings, Momotaro befriends a dog, a monkey, and a pheasant.
Together, they journey to the ogres’ island, defeat them, and bring peace back to the land.
This timeless folktale teaches children about bravery, teamwork, and justice.
