Looking round the Yoto App is a great way to discover all the free content built into Yoto, plus get to know some of the key features of your Yoto Player or Mini.

Here are two things to do first:

Give your player a name
Check out the Players > Settings screen to see all the ways you can personalise your player.

Explore where all your audio lives
Purchased cards show on the first screen of My Library. Then swipe across to see Discover, Make Your Own, Podcasts, Radio and Sleep Sounds.

☁️ When you first play a card, you will probably see this cloud icon. It means that your player is streaming the audio and the content is not yet downloaded to the device.

💡 Top tip: the card doesn't store the audio, it's just the key to tell Yoto player what to play.

Once you have played any card for the first time your player will need some time to download it. Downloads happen when your player is online, charging and not playing anything.

You can check what's downloaded in the Yoto App by going to Players > Settings.

You can set when you want your player to be in Day Mode and Night Mode, to support your daily routines.

You can set the night clock to show a 🌚 moon at bedtime, and a 🌞 sun when it's morning time.

Go to Player > Settings in the Yoto App to do this.

Yoto Daily and Yoto Radio are the default settings, but you can configure what plays when you press the right button, and have these be different for 🌞 Day Mode and 🌜Night Mode.

Head to Players > Settings in the Yoto App to change things up.

Make Your Own is what we call our blank Yoto Cards. You can put all kinds of audio on them, from the free content in the Yoto App to your own original recordings.

Here are 8 ideas for things to do:

✅ Make a sticker card: make a card from one of the stickers that came with your player.
💕 Make a card copy: copy one of your bought cards because the real card is currently down the side of the sofa.
💫 Single card magic: take one MYO card on a long car journey and swap the content linked to it using your phone and the app. So you don't have to take lots of cards with you.
💌 Make a postcard: if you are a parent (or grandparent) who spends time away from family, make a MYO recording for your child and link it to a card for them. When you update the playlist (from anywhere in the world) the content will update automatically on the same card they play!
📀 Make a mixtape: take some of your MP3s and turn them into a mixtape for your kid.
📙 Record a storybook: got a favourite storybook you've read 1,000 times? Turn it into a MYO card so your child can listen to it whenever they like. There is an audio recorder built into the Yoto App.
🍽️ Send a message to your player: Record a short MYO playlist (like \"Dinner's Ready!\") and play it on your player straight from the Yoto App.
🍏 Make something totally original: here on Yoto Space, families just like you are creating and sharing some amazing audio, made for Yoto (The Cat-tastrophe! anyone...).
