Bring your child into the Yoto creation process by designing their own pixel icons on paper and have them uploaded directly onto their Yoto!
User information
First you must download and print the special DoodlePix template from the DoodlePix website. You can print a blank grid for a freestyle creation, or pick an existing icon for a 'paint by numbers' or 'paint by swatches' template - great for the littler ones!
Next, your child can design their own Yoto icon by colouring in the grid.
Once finished, open up the website's capture page and take a photo of your child's amazing creation. DoodlePix will convert it into a pixel icon which can be previewed straight onto your device or uploaded directly to your Yoto account.
You will then be able to pick it as a track icon in the Yoto app.
Technical information
The app uses OpenCV and Aruco markers to detect the bounds of the finished pixel grid. From there it picks out the colours and converts it into a pixel icon.
Data storage
The app collects the user's name and email to display in the app to indicate your logged in status.
