Cantonese

Cantonese was my first language and English is my second. My Cantonese faded over the years and I think if there was another way to be exposed to the language regularly like through Yoto, that would’ve been amazing. I want my children to know their heritage language and not have it feel strange to them.

There can be stories about food, school, moving to a new city/country, emotions, family dynamics. Or folklore like Chang’e the moon goddess and Cantonese versions of Disney stories/songs

I know for a fact that many parents like myself want more content that’s easily available in our heritage languages. I can only speak for the ones who want Cantonese, but there are definitely parents who also want kid content in Vietnamese, Thai, Hmong, Khmer, Laotian, Hindi, Farsi, Urdu, Arabic.

I’m surprised there isn’t Cantonese content already through Yoto since there are many Cantonese speakers in the US and UK.

Thank you!
