I teach kindergarten and I read the Behavior Matters series to my students each year to talk about behavior at school. The kids LOVE them. Each book is about one animal and a troubling behavior, i.e. Tiger Has A Tantrum, Monkey Needs To Listen, Elephant Learns to Share, Croc Needs to Wait, Hippo Owns Up, etc. The animal has a few problems (tantrums from anger) and then talks to a trusted adult and learns how to avoid or cope with their problem. We practice breathing to calm down, waiting with patience, making new friends, sharing friends, working through fear telling the truth, etc. Since it is from an animal's point of view, the kids are more likely to receive behavior instruction.
This series can be made into a card with the most popular books from the series. I read and made my own card, but isn't it so much better when you get character voices, sound effects and music?
