Calling all Aussie kids book lovers!

As audio sponsor of Children’s Book Week 2025, we’re inviting you to help us celebrate the power of storytelling and bring more Aussie books to life in audio.

We want you to tell us: if you could bring any Australian children’s book to Yoto, what would it be? It could be folklore or fantasy, magical or mystery, humorous or historical… you decide.

Tell us your chosen Australian book or Australian author, and you’ll be in with the chance to win a Yoto Player!

To participate in the giveaway, you must be a resident of Australia and submit between 17:00 AEST on 15 August 2025 and 23:00 AEST on 23 August 2025.

Submissions can continue beyond that time but will not be eligible for the giveaway.

    I noticed that there aren't a lot of cards in Yoto for older kids (10+). There are also only the first 3 audio cards for the Warriors series. A complete card pack/singles for the first series of Warriors would be a great addition to Yoto please.

    A surreal musical adventure from the 70s alternating spoken radio play segments with songs. Lots of different voices, sound effects, interesting characters, and positive messages. It's actually very funny and silly! Oblio is born physically different from others in his community, but (together with his trusty dog Arrow) is accepted and accommodated.... Until he runs foul of the son of the Evil Count. The Evil Count uses an outdated law to justify banishing Oblio and Arrow because of their differences. On their journey through the Pointless Forest, they meet many unusual people with unexpected perspectives on life, challenging their understanding of community, society, and political authority - culminating in a triumphant return to their home.

    This 1970 album release intersperses radio play vocal segments with musical numbers. It's absolutely wonderful and I used to fall asleep listening to it as a kid with unimaginable sleep anxiety. It's perfect for yoto. I have an MP3 version of it with decent quality and my son loves listening to it on a MYO card.

    More Interactive Series/Cards Please!

    My kids all LOVE the interactive cards (draw along, bake along, quiz etc), and my oldest is obsessed with the “choose your own adventure” format of dungeons and dragons “forge your quest”. I’ll admit I was nostalgic for the CYOA books while listening (though the kids now don’t have the benefit of keeping their finger In the alternate option page, just in case 😜). Thanks!

    Autistic/neudivergent centred stories for young children

    We have an autistic 4 year old and it would be so wonderful to have some content which has neurodivergent protagonists or is about neurodivergent brains. It’s so important for feelings of acceptance and belong to have content for them. I’m sure yoto is a safe space for many small magical minded people.

    A card about positive thinking and reflection

    I would love a card about positive thinking and reflection from propel that my kids would know. I need them the be go getters rather then going with the flow and not have that determination in the belly’s. So I’ve looked everywhere to see if I can find then or anything and I can’t. Something that they will listen to and say yes I can do that it’s bot going to. Be hard if I work toward something and out effort in my life,sport school determination
